Rory Stewart: The colourful Conservative with a quirky past

Rory Stewart's campaign for the leadership of the Conservative Party - and the keys to number 10 - has been different to those of his rivals.

While the favourite in the race, Boris Johnson, kept himself out of the public glare as much as possible prior to his official campaign launch on Wednesday, outsider Mr Stewart has been travelling the country, meeting anyone who wanted to have a chat.

He has used social media to great effect, seemingly garnering support from outside the Tory party as well as within.

Even after succeeding in the second round of votes, it remains to be seen whether the International Development Secretary's efforts have cut through to those who actually have a say in the leadership election.
